Video
My music video is about a breakup, where it follows the girl's perspective and looks at her healing and feeling good about herself again. Different parts of the video will feature her looking back to different moments in her past relationship and mourning the loss of the boy. By having the girl walk around in different places where these once happy memories occurred, the character will be able to see the struggle that she is facing getting over her relationship. To reflect that the song is a ballad; a ballad is usually an emotional song that when being represented needs a non-linear music video, this is so that context can be added to the emotions and the song can convey these same emotions. My music video will feature multiple 360°, which will reflect how she [the protagonist] keeps on going round in circles about all of her emotions. This kind of shot will also be used to show how she is stuck in the same kind of loop with the boy, the feeling of going round in circles and getting nowhere. These characters will be played by a girl and a boy, both aged 17, this shows the different representation of gender groups in society. Some intertextuality in the video will include a nod to the film La La Land;the scene I’ll be visually referencing is the one where the protagonist dances on a bench in a yellow dress with the man she is in love with, but doesnt know it yet. This film would appeal to the target young audience of 16-25 year olds as the film came out in 2016, so many were in their early teenage years and would most likely have watched it. At the end of the video there will be the option to watch the behind the scenes which will then get the viewing up over the two so that the audience can feel better connected to the artist and their journey.
To meet the brief of a 3 minute ballad I chose the song, “I miss you, I’m sorry” by Gracie Abrams; this song features a steady beat and emotional lyrics. The song was released in April 2020, where at the time Gracie was an ‘underground artist’, but now she has grown tremendously in popularity and is now ranked 83rd in the world on Spotify (as of June 2025) with 41 million monthly listeners.
Website
My website will follow the same feeling of the music video, with linking images to what you see in the video on the website’s ‘gallery’ where it would show the image and when you hover the mouse over it on the computer version it would flip over and tell you more about the image - on a mobile you would have to tap the image to view the text.
The website will also feature a ‘tour’ section on it with all of the dates and locations in 2026 summer (with the last date being the hand in date) there would also be a merchandise section on the website with the top selling items and their prices, when clicking what size it will als show if it is available.
The colour scheme for the website will be pastels as the branding of ‘Ivy Stone’ is a softer palette. With blues, pinks and purples, somewhat resembling a sunset, as there will be sunsets featured in the music video. The design will not have too much going on with clear directions around it, with a website bar at the top which will direct you to the different areas. Due to the audience being 16-25 year olds, it can be presumed in this generation that they will know how to use a laptop and phone and how the basics on a website work.
Digital convergence
The digital convergence from the music video to the website will be a smooth transition, the website will have a lot of advertising of the ‘new video’ and will make it so that the eye is drawn to that on the website, and can make sure that the video is easily streamable from there, so that they watch it. With a behind the scenes of the video it can make the audience seem more included and engaged with the artist as due to social media, everyone wants to connect with everyone a little bit more as it is easier to do in this modern day world. By also having the social media linked on the website it can make it so that the audience can connect more with the artist.
